What happens if you get stopped by the police and you have legal cannabis in your possession?

Cannabis, while legal, is still a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. If police suspect that you are in possession of a sufficiently large quantity of cannabis to raise suspicion of trafficking, you may be charged.

If you are charged with impaired driving, cannabis found on your person or in your vehicle may also be used as evidence against you. For more information about cannabis driving laws, click here. If you have been charged with an offence, do not hesitate to call our office at (905) 541-2228 or fill out a free consultation form.
