How Can I Clear My Criminal Record or Get A Criminal Record Expunged?

If you have completed your sentence and demonstrated that you are a law-abiding citizen, you can apply to get a “Record Suspension.” A Record Suspension is granted by the Parole Board of Canada, and removes your record from the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database.

The process of receiving a Record Suspension can take some time, so it is recommended that individuals seeking a suspension start their application as soon as possible. For more information on the application process, visit the Canada.ca website section for record suspensions.

Expungement of a criminal record means that your criminal record is permanently destroyed. Expungement is granted for historically unjust convictions, so you must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for the process. For information on the eligibility criteria for expungement, visit Canada.ca.

Once you confirm your eligibility process, you can start the application process for expungement. To start applying, visit the expungement section of the Canada.ca website.

If you need help clearing additional charges off of your criminal record, our lawyers are available 24/7. Call us at (905) 541-2228 or fill out a free consultation form to get started.
