Brennan L'Estrange

Associate Lawyer

Brennan earned his Juris Doctor from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where he took every criminal law class available. He was accepted into the Queen’s Legal Aid Litigation Clinic as a Student Caseworker in his second year of study, and the Criminal Appellate Internship in his third year of study.

Brennan spent both his law school summers as a Summer Student at Collett Read LLP. After graduating from law school, he completed his Articles at Collett Read LLP and returned as an Associate Lawyer after being called to the bar.

Brennan has had articles published in two academic journals:

1. ‘Fighting in Hockey: Prosecutable or Permissible?’ in the Manitoba Law Journal, Robson Crim Volume 48 Issue 5.

2. ‘Crime Without Punishment: Spontaneous Mob Violence and Crimes Against Humanity.’ in the Oxford Journal of International Criminal Justice.

Before going to law school, Brennan graduated from Trinity College at the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction, specializing in Political Science. He was on the Dean’s List for all four years of his study. He also worked for two summers at a boutique full-service law firm in Burlington, where he gained experience in corporate law, family law, real estate law, and civil litigation. Brennan’s true passion, however, has always been criminal law, and it was this passion that led him to Collett Read LLP.
